Why it exists

How do companies meet?

Meetings have become an essential part of corporate work.

But we know surprisingly little about how professionals actually perceive them, how much time they consume, what problems they create and what return they generate.

That is why we created the Meetingitis Barometer: a study that examines how workplace meetings are evolving and how professionals perceive them.

In 2026, we reach our third edition, consolidating a research initiative designed to turn an everyday workplace conversation into data about the reality of meetings inside organizations.

6 insights · Barometer 2026

What the data tells us.

Six findings that help explain how our relationship with meetings is changing.

What we want to understand

We are not trying to prove that we have too many meetings.

We want to understand what is really happening.

The Barometer analyses how professionals’ perceptions are evolving and how mature organizations are in the way they manage meetings.

Time Productivity Focus Decisions Cost ROI AI
Do we have more meetings than before?
Are they really necessary?
How much time do they consume?
Are they properly prepared?
Do they have clear objectives?
Do they result in decisions?
Are the right people involved?
How much do they affect focus and productivity?
Is there a methodology for managing them?
Is their effectiveness measured?
Is their cost calculated?
Is meeting ROI measured?

Three editions

From “we have too many meetings” to data.

The 2024–2026 series allows us to see which problems remain, which ones are evolving and how professionals’ expectations of their meetings are changing.

2024

The starting point for measuring how professionals perceive their meetings.

2025

The second measurement and the first comparisons of meeting habits and perceptions.

2026

The third edition, with a broader look at productivity, ROI, new ways of working and artificial intelligence.

The problem is no longer just how much we meet.
It’s also what we meet for.
